The nutritionist chronicles – Part 6
As you have heard, we were in Vegas last week. I was sure that this visit to the nutritionist after that little jaunt was going to have horrific results. I was so wrong!
Not only was I in Vegas, having to eat out, all the while making the best choices possible, and then asking them to make it even healthier, but I was also off this week from exercising. It was my 12 week, post kick-ass break, from working out.
Enough beating around the bush, my results were fabulous! I was seeing the scale not budging, and thinking things were going downhill. All the while, it wasn’t fat that was making the scale not budge, it was lean muscle mass! I was ignoring the other tell tale signs – my clothes were not fitting the same. I was dead set thinking it was fat gain making them fit different. They weren’t tight, just fitting differently. My watch and rings were still turning from being loose. Now, are you ready for the numbers?
My body fat is down to a remarkable, and record set for myself 29%. When I started seeing her my body fat was 34.5 %. That is a drop of 5.5%, in less than 2 months! My lean muscle went from 65.5% to 71%! My weight difference from start to now is only 4.75 pounds less, but when it comes to it being muscle weight and not fat weight, I am truly on cloud nine!
Not only is my nutritionist pleased, but so is my endocrinologist. I see her for my diabetes (type I). My A1C is down to 5.7, without having seizures and life threatening low blood sugars.
I see my other doctor for my thyroid in a couple weeks. I started my thyroid medicine, and my hair stopped falling out in massive amounts, but then it has turned, and is falling out a bit more. I was telling my nutritionist this, and she said to move my appointment up with Dr. “G”. They work closely together, and have great communication between the two of them.
As stated previously from Dr. “G”, my thyroid medicine will need to be upped, but at a slow rate, as to avoid heart palpitations, and extreme anxiety and nervousness. We will see what she has to say in a couple weeks. For now, I will continue to ride my awesome stretch of positive results, and kicking butt with great strides!
Our plan of action, until I meet with the nutritionist again is to switch my protein powders up between an over-all protein powder and the inflammatory protein powder. This will keep my body guessing, and help in both areas needing improvement. There is still no dairy, nor grains.
I asked her about when I get to up my calories, as I am going between 1000-1100 now everyday. She said that is too low, to stick at 1100, and when my thyroid medicine is set, then we will up the calories, slowly.
I am sticking to the same workout regime. Cardio two days a week, and weight lifting one day a week. When my thyroid medicine is set, then we will also up my exercise.

Agreed-the new logo looks kick ass.
Fantastic job on the progress so far. Your numbers are coming along. Once they get the thyroid meds dialed in, you’ll probably see all of your hard work come in line.

@Becki, I agree about the new logo. It’s still being tweaked, but it’s coming along. It should look really good on a t-shirt.
@Tim, She has been working so hard for this for so long. I agree about the meds. I think she’ll really start to progress when the meds are where they need to be.
